Exhibitions
AVAA makes visual art available for the enjoyment of the general public and brings art by members to the attention of potential patrons through regular exhibitions.
Monthly Members Mini-show. Paid-up AVAA members may bring a “ready to hang” painting or other work of art to the monthly meeting from 6:30 – 6:45 pm. Pieces must be no wider than 20 inches or taller than 28 inches. Members vote for their favorite and gift certificate prizes for the winners are provided by Azel Art Supply. The First Place winning art will be displayed for the following month in the Bob Duncan Center display case.
AVAA Members Only Exhibit for 2011 is from October 3 through November 7 at the Bob Duncan Center in Vandergriff Park in Arlington. Paid-up AVAA members may enter up to 4 art pieces in this show for an entry fee of $1 per piece entered to cover cost of the exhibit. This is not a juried show. All work entered will be displayed.
AVAA Regional Juried Show for members and non-members will be held February 8 - March 30, 2012 at the Bob Duncan Center at Vandergriff Park in Arlington. This show draws entries from artists across the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Entries are judged by a competent art professional and approximately $3000 in cash and merchandise is awarded to winning entries. Award winners in this show will have their work displayed at the Arlington Museum of Art during the month of April. Entries will be received at the Bob Duncan Center on Monday, February 6, 2012.
